What I am most ashamed of.........

is not giving to charity while a jw.

this whole 'lets sit back and wait for jehovah to sort the world out while we do nothing' really gets to me.

there is so much to be done in this world, so many people doing good things but the jws just say bang on doors and sell watchtowers.. i did plenty of voluntary work in the jws pioneering my youth away but it was all so useless, now i do voluntary work to help people who want to be helped, as well as my job.

At what age do people 'wake up'?

i was thinking about this question recently after being at the meeting when new pioneers were announced for the 2013 service year.. we have a dozen or so pioneers in the congregation, and most are in their 20's.

some absolutely love the things they are taught and can't wait to spread the good news.. others in the congregation are going through the motions, tired of hearing the same old same old but have no way to change things now.

then there are a couple like me.

St George! One of the greatest stories I here from here is people leaving later in life. It takes great courage to look at your life and admit you were lied to. I take my hat off to you! I wish you many years of a happy life. Sometimes I think when you leave as an adult you charish it more. That could just be my obervations.

Brothers playing sports are so aggressive.

this summer i started to play football(soccer) with "wordly" people.

it s been so nice and relaxing without flashovers.. contrast for playing with witnesses is huge!

here is couple examples of witnesses games from where i live:.

Can the Borg close down a Kingdom Hall because of low attendance?

the land for our hall was given to the congregation by a local brother.. the contribution box was overflowing with gifts of money from the brothers & sisters in the congregation when they knew we were going to have our 'own' hall at last.. we built it ourselves with help from brothers & sisters that donated their time & skills.

we had a small loan from the borg to help us finish the project & this was paid off very quickly.. that must be 25 years ago now.. we were told by circuit overseers we would be blessed if we had our own hall & that the fine witness would bring many people in to the 'truth'.. it didn't.. we were never a big congregation, however when attendance went down to below 30 a couple of years ago, the circuit overseers wanted to close the hall down.. the elders protested & the hall is still being used.. can the borg close down a kingdom hall they haven't built & keep the proceeds?.

why doesn't it belong to the people that paid for it?.

They closed one near me in WV. I'm not sure of all the details but they dispersed the congregation with near by congregations. The problem was the closest hall is an hour away so alot of the older ones just stopped going. The congregation I went to before I left had less then 30 but the hall was paid in full I never heard of a shut down.

I started to question around 30 didn't leave till 33 but even after I left it took a good 2 years to FEEL out! It took a divorce, shunning eventhough I was "reproved" and just lack of love all around to kick me out.

a member suggested this i am disassociated 3 years and divorced one with a life of hell marriage and brain washed but worn out fighting to get back that is nothing but a bunch of back stabbing people in that organization, brain washed and taught to divide familys, they want you in but not, its like football with them same type of plays.

i now have found people where i go that doesn't teach love the live this.

i had a abusive marriage, was wife of elder and 3 kids who lived hell because i was to follow the submission of a wife.
